The Kala Story is an occasion wear brand built on floral embroidery and natural fabrics. Threadwork, cutdana, and sequins work on linen, cotton, silk based fabrics, featherlight to wear.

Indian occasion wear is extraordinary in its craft and punishing in its comfort: stiff, heavy, structured for a photograph rather than a full day. Meanwhile, the clothes women reach for most often, the ones for work, brunch, travel, the evening that starts as a get-together, are plain by default. As if glamour and comfort can't share a garment.

Hibiscus High is our first festive wear collection with western, adjustable silhouettes that fit real bodies. Florals drawn from nature on breathable fabric. Everything is designed and produced in Bengaluru, in small production runs and a good working environment.
